We are passionate about teaching and improving our students’ ability to speak English with confidence! All of our classes are taught entirely in English led by qualified native speakers. For our youngest learners we introduce language in the same way children learn their first language at home – in a fun, relaxed and natural way through the use of games, songs, art, music and age appropriate real life situations. We have developed our own communication methodology based on experience and evidence that students learn best when they are motivated and see that it is an enjoyable and practical skill to have. VERY YOUNG LEARNERS:
3 - 4 year olds
You have made an important decision to start your child on their exciting language learning journey. Our aim is to introduce English in a fun and meaningful way. We motivate children through stimulating activities, songs, games and crafts that help build their confidence while sparking their interest to learn English. Our classrooms are adapted to small children, have low student to teacher ratios, and plenty of space to move around.
YOUNG LEARNERS:
5 - 8 year olds
We believe it is vitally important to learn the skills required to communicate effectively with other people. Therefore, our classes focus on short grammatical presentations with extended spoken practice activities and lots of fun interactive games to commit to memory the themes being taught. Teamwork is really important to us and we often have students work on class presentations skills. In the real world our students will communicate and work together with other people, which is why we focus on communicating as a team as much as possible to prepare students to be able to express themselves in English in any situation.
FOUNDATION:
9 - 12 year olds
At The English School – La Gomera we believe it’s important to have regular milestones to aim for. Each of our qualifications targets a particular level on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international framework that measures a learner’s language ability. This means your child can progress from one level to the next, keeping them motivated every step of the way. Cambridge English qualifications are recognized by over 25,000 organizations around the world and open doors to a lifetime of exciting opportunities for your child. By 9 years old, students are ready to present for their first level of the Cambridge Young Learners international exams.
TEENS:
A2, B1, B2, C1, C2
We offer the world’s most trusted exams and tests for higher education. The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and the Cambridge English Scale are an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language.
Cambridge English Qualifications are about more than just exams and grades. Each exam targets a specific level with clear learning objectives to provide detailed assessment. While preparing for these in-depth qualifications students develop the range of skills they need to succeed.

Don’t stress – our teachers are here to help you! With classes of no more than 4 students you can be sure to receive personalised and accurate tutoring. We can help you to reinforce and improve your level of English by checking your homework, clarifying any doubts or concerns and to prepare you to increase your test scores at school. We use a blended approach of school materials and our expertise to ensure students are practicing each skill related to language acquisition.
